Built Right, From the Ground Up

Proper Structures is an owner-operated contracting company in Bozeman, Montana. I'm Paxton Engesser. I started the company after years managing and building high-end custom homes across the Bozeman and Big Sky region, where I learned that the work that matters most is the work nobody sees once the finish goes on.

That's why we build from the structure out. I'm engineering-trained through Montana State University, and every project — a deck, a siding package, a timber-frame pavilion, a commercial framing scope, an interior remodel — starts with the same questions: what carries the load, where does the water go, and what will this look like in twenty years. We solve those on paper first, then build it once.

We work for homeowners and general contractors alike. For homeowners, that means a deck or exterior that's engineered, permitted, and built to survive a Montana winter. For GCs, it means a self-performing crew that shows up with a plan, hits the schedule, and doesn't need babysitting. Either way, the person who bid your job is the person on site building it.

We run a W-2 crew, carry workers' compensation and liability coverage, and stand behind every job we finish.
